Mouhamadou Moustapha Souaré, also known as KING MOW (Master of Wisdom) and MOW 504, is a Senegalese artist and cultural activist. MOW began his career as a graffiti and street artist in 2004, in Dakar, where he is a founding member of the transnational West Africa- basedgraffiti supergroup, RBS (Radikl Bomb Shot Crew, whose members hail from Senegal, Cameroon, Uganda, Ghana, France, and Switzerland.
MOW's practice centers collaboration, and he has organized or participated in numerous international graffiti festivals in West Africa, including Festigraff Cone of the longest-running graffiti festival on the African continent), XEEX Festival, Graff et Santé, FESTA 2H, 72 Hip Hop Galsen, The Last Wall Tour, Festival SALAAM, the Dak'ART Biennial, Djaram'Art, and Festival THIAROYE 44. Other projects include collaborations with and commissions for cultural agencies and organizations such as Africulturban, GHipHop, Google Cultural Institute, the British Council, La Francophonie, ONU Femme, and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). In addition to graffiti and street art, MOW works indigital media, including 2D/3D animation, video mapping, and VR and AR.
